ONE UNIQUE MBA PROGRAM

The Americas MBA is a joint program between four distinguished business schools – FIA, ITAM, Simon Fraser University, and Vanderbilt University. They offer a unique MBA in international management with an emphasis on the four major economies of the Americas, integrating students from Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the USA. Four dynamic economies of the Americas – One unique MBA program.

The program focuses on improving strategic leadership for professionals in international companies, by providing a challenging academic environment to discuss and practice in-depth management concepts on real-life cases within the economic, cultural, and managerial models of the Americas and the international arena as well. With all classes in English, the program is developed in the first year with Friday and Saturday classes every two weeks in Brazil.

In the second year, the program goes through the core concepts with four additional intensive modules in Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and the USA. These modules consist of joint immersions with students from the above mentioned universities, which are leading universities in their countries, held every two months. The integration of the students includes academic, professional, cultural, and personal interactions that support a dynamic and broad perspective to become a true leader in the international arena.

Regular classes are held biweekly on Fridays (2:00 pm to 6:00 pm) and
Saturdays (8:30 am to 5:30 pm), every two weeks.

The Average Profile of an Americas MBA Class

On average, our Brazilian students are 35 years old and possess 12 years of professional experience. The Americas MBA cohort is truly multicultural, with approximately 75% of students hailing from foreign universities. Program applicants come from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. This diversity enhances in-class discussions, fosters the exchange of experiences between students and professors, and enriches the application of concepts, further deepening the learning experience.

JOB FUNCTION

The MBA helped me broaden my horizons in terms of possibilities, and the in-depth content learned, especially about new businesses and venture building in the Vanderbilt class, was essential for enabling the search for a new area within consulting that made more sense for my long-term career.

I am now moving on to a new phase in my career and hope to continue influencing and motivating people, and happy that we women are increasing our representation in leadership roles.

The Americas MBA was an incredible experience as it allowed me to experience cultures and create connections in 4 different countries. The classes at foreign universities are fantastic, and I am sure they added a lot to my work and life. I will carry this experience with me forever!

In April 2023, I completed the Americas MBA from FIA Business School, an enriching experience that allowed me to enhance my knowledge in strategy and leadership. In addition, I had the unique opportunity to experience part of the course at renowned institutions located in the main economies of the Americas. I studied at Simon Fraser University in Canada, ITAM in Mexico, and Vanderbilt in the USA.

My experience in the Americas MBA course was spectacular. In addition to the high-quality content that forms the base of the MBA, through this program, I had the opportunity to develop intercultural skills and relationships, always in a practical learning model, either through support projects for large companies or through the development of my own business.

The Program's Focus

Our program emphasizes a highly practical approach, designed to immediately apply conceptual frameworks to participants’ professional careers. Lectures and case analyses demand active participation, while teamworking skills are honed through consultancy projects. We employ simulations, active learning, and distance learning methods, along with individual counseling. Additionally, we utilize real-life case studies through our content agreement with Harvard Business Publishing.

In the program’s final phase, multicultural teams composed of Canadians, Mexicans, Americans, and Brazilians tackle real strategic challenges in consultancy projects for actual clients. Each project is overseen by an experienced coach provided by the partner schools.
